What I do 

I mentor African Food Fellows. I also research Sustainable Aquaculture Development looking to connect food systems on land and on water in a sustainable manner.

My predictions about the future of food in 100 years

Africa can and will become the world food basket if current barriers could be removed at all levels, and actors are sufficiently empowered and work in synergy to optimize the use of its human and natural assets in a responsible manner. 

What I like about the African Food Fellowship

I like the diversity in backgrounds of the different actors and the complexity of the subjects in different impact areas that lead to the collective leadership of food leaders.  As a result of mentoring the Fellows, I have extended and consolidated my network of experts on the ground in East Africa as well as my knowledge base of food systems in the region.
