Josine Umuhire Munyentwali
Josine is an Access to Nutritious Food Fellow, researcher and finance specialist with experience designing post-harvest handling and storage technology extension services. She has conducted baseline, feasibility and impact studies, and supported farmer cooperatives and smallholders to access finance. She is currently working as a post-harvest handling research technician at Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Board (RAB). She contributed to the assessment of aflatoxin and fumonisin contamination levels in maize and mycotoxins awareness and risk factors in Rwanda. Her notable achievements include developing training manuals on preventing malnutrition, mitigating mycotoxin and Aflasafe usage, which are helping small holder farmers and farmer cooperatives to improve their post-harvest handling. She holds an Msc. in Food Security Sciences from Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences-Wageningen, Netherlands, and a BA in Finance from University of Lay Adventists of Kigali (UNILAK).
