Julie Oyoo

Julie is a nutritionist working with the County Government of Homa-Bay in Kenya. 

Her passion for horticulture stems from her years of experience in offering both nutrition-sensitive and nutrition-specific services which enhanced her understanding that regular access to healthy and diverse horticultural crops is the most cost-effective way to fight micronutrient malnutrition in Kenya. She has worked with small-scale farmers to improve kitchen gardening practices and ultimately, access to diverse horticultural crops that provide a variety of micronutrients to consumers at a household level. Julie has an MSC, In Human Biology and nutrition from the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada.
