Mary Gakenyi Wanjiru

Mary is a Quality, Food and Safety Officer  at Twiga Foods, where she leads cross-functional food safety and quality initiatives for produce that is supplied across the country serving over 10,000 customers. 

She has experience leading farmer engagement and product quality in the dairy and vegetable value chains in Kenya for local markets. One of her biggest achievements is her involvement in Quality Control at Githunguri Dairy Cooperative Society, which has over 15,000 dairy farmers, where she introduced testing parameters for 250,000 litres of milk collected daily, leading to a reduction in rejection rate from 15% to 5%. Mary holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
