Nyaruai is the co-founder of Mama Mboga Africa, an organisation that works with women across Kenya to champion the nutritional, cultural, and economic significance  of traditional African Vegetables

Nyaruai is a farmer, food systems journalist, and an advocate for women and youth in agriculture. She uses digital tools such as social media to create awareness and foster conversations that influence positive change regarding traditional African vegetables. She has partnered and collaborated with like-minded individuals and organizations to foster food security, empower local farmers, and celebrate the rich heritage woven into Africa’s culinary and agricultural tapestry.
