Serah Mutahi

Serah is a fisheries expert and champion of sustainable food systems.

She has specialised in aquatic ecosystems where she has trained value chain actors on good aquaculture practices such as safe solid and liquid waste disposal, fish handling and safety, and fish disease and how to combat them. In a previous role as a manager at Sywan Urban Aquaculture Center, Serah integrated insect farming and vermiculture (the cultivation of earthworms), and was able to establish a fish hatchery and have it certified by Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI). She has a Diploma in fisheries and aquatic sciences from Wildlife Research Training Institute (formerly Kenya Wildlife Service Training Institute).
